Newsletter: 2 Statutory public holidays falling on the same day: What is applicable for this May 9th 2024?
The month of May is just around the corner with something unusual: 2 of the 11 statutory public holidays are falling on the same day in Luxembourg. On May 9th 2024 are indeed falling the “Ascension Day” and the “Europe Day”.
We therefore highlight for you the new legal provision applicable when a statutory public holiday is falling on the same calendar day as another one: the employee will benefit from a supplementary compensatory day of leave to be taken within 3 months.
